The detection of PD deeper inside generator stator insulation requires the transition to charge measurements with respect to IEC 60270. This means a sufficient integration behavior of the entire measuring arrangement must be provided. On many generators, 80 pF on-line couplers are already installed with a strong high pass behavior that hampers the charge measurement. An additional module with switchable low pass of higher order can be applied to overcome this obstacle.
