As previously discussed, Quallion has submitted a proposal to the U.S. DOE for a grant under the Recovery Act's Electric Drive Vehicle Battery and Component Manufacturing initiative. "The company hopes to build a new $220 million state-of-the-art lithium ion battery manufacturing facility in Southern California that will directly support President Obama's goal to Get One Million Plug-In Hybrid Cars on the Road by 2015."
