DOE funds Navistar International plug-in hybrid school buses

Navistar International has been selected by the U.S. DOE to participate in a project that will develop and deliver energy-efficient and environmentally friendly plug-in hybrid school buses. According to a statement from Navistar, the DOE has granted the company a cost-shared award of up to $10 million-rnhalf of the total projected cost. Under a DOE program, Navistar will develop and deploy sixty plug-in electric hybrid buses to fleets across the nation during a multi-year program.
