Because of the increasing problems faced by employees who have to care for an aging relative, some companies are beginning to explore new benefits to assist those employees faced with elder care, reports Hewitt Associates (.05). However, most of the programs are new and in the developmental stages, Hewitt adds. In fact, Christine Sellz, a consultant for Hewitt Associates and former member of the CCH HRM Advisory Board, emphasizes that elder care can not yet be characterized as a trend.
