YU JIN XIANG

摘要

In January 1994 Hardinxveld-based Merwede Shipyard signed the contract for the engineering and construction of two combined passenger/container vessels for account of the Shanghai Hai Xing Shipping Company Ltd. These hybrid vessels fully cope with the increasing demand for both containerised cargo and passenger transport in first class accommodation along the Chinese coastline and beyond. The first vessel completed, the 'Yu Jin Xiang', has been handed over recently. The naming ceremony was performed by Her Excellency Mrs Shi Yanhua, spouse of Mr Wu Jian-min, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in the Netherlands. The second vessel will be named 'Zi Ding Xiang'.
