Promac BV, a member of the Van Voorden-Promac cooperation in Zaltbommel, the Netherlands, is well-known for its high quality propulsion and manoeuvring systems worldwide. The technical trading company emanates from Van Voorden Gieterij B.V., which was established in 1912. Originally the Van Voorden Gieterij B. V. foundry confined itself to the manufacture of marine propellers for the shipping industry. The increasing involvement of the company in the marine industry, however, inevitably led to considerable diversification in activities and services. Separate subsidiaries were set up, and soon the diverse activities and services of these subsidiaries were combined in the cooperation Van Voorden-Promac.
