EXTRA-HIGH STRENGTH SHIPBUILDING PROFILES

Fundia Profiler is the leading European producer of steel shipbuilding profiles with an approximate market share of 40%. It is part of the Fundia Group and owned by the Finnish steel concern, Rautarnukki OYJ. Around 200,000 tonnes of steel profiles are produced annually and sold through 19 sales offices and agents world-wide. Recently Fundia Profiler gained classification society approval for rolled shipbuilding profiles in extra-high quality steel. Classifications for extra-high grade E460 steel have come from Lloyd's Register, Germanischer Lloyd and the Polish Register of Shipping, since Det Norske Veritas' first approval of this grade in January 1999. In February, Fundia Profiler received classification from Germanischer Lloyd for E500. Fundia Profiler is the only producer of rolled shipbuilding profiles with approvals for its profiles at such a high grade.
