HUD Modifies Disaster Voucher Program Requirements to Implement June Statutory Amendments

HUD has expanded family eligibility for disaster voucher program (DVP) assistance and dropped the initial lease term requirement, implementing statutory changes in the June emergency supplemental appropriations act (H.R.4939, Pub.L. 109-234). Notice PIH 2006-37 (HA), issued September 28, modified the guidance on family eligibility and lease terms in Notice PIH 2006-12. Except for those changes, the earlier notice and other DVP guidance remain in effect.
