PHAs Must Reimburse HUD for 100 Percent of Voucher Cost Errors

PHAs will now be required to reimburse HUD for 100 percent of Section 8 housing choice voucher program costs disallowed because of PHA errors uncovered in on-site monitoring reviews, according to HUD Notice PIH 2007-27 (HA), issued August 24. The reimbursement requirement applies to voucher program costs exceeding $2,500. The previous reimbursement requirement was 50 percent of costs in excess of $2,500.
