Aiken Housing Authority Teams With Local Nonprofit to Develop Single-Family Rental Community

A subsidiary of the Housing Authority of the City of Aiken, S.C., and the Jasper County Neighbors United (JCNU) worked as co-developers to build Deerfield Vil- lage, a new community of 26 single-family detached rental homes in Hardeeville, a city of about 1,800 residents. A major goal of the developers is to move the low-income tenants into homeownership.
