HUD Outlines 2009-2010 Plans For Economic Stimulus Programs

HUD expects state housing credit agencies to expend $225 million in low-income housing tax credit assistance program (TCAP) funds in fiscal 2009 and $1,012 billion in fiscal 2010, according to American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) program plans posted on the department's web site.rnHUD plans to obligate all of the $2.25 billion in TCAP funds to the state agencies by the end of fiscal 2009.rnThe TCAP plan also sets affordable housing targets of 1,833 new units and 1,833 rehabilitated units in 2009 and 8,005 new and 8,005 rehabbed units in 2010.rnIn addition, the program is expected to create or retain 1,818 jobs in 2009 and 8,048 in 2010.
