President Obama has signed into law a bill (S. 896) that combines foreclosure prevention and relief measures with the reauthorization and consolidation of homeless assistance programs under the McKinney-Vento Act.rnThe House amended the original Senate bill to modify provisions on the neighborhood stabilization program (NSP) and a safe harbor for mortgage servicers which modify loans facing foreclosure and then passed the legislation, 367-54, on May 19.
