HUD Allocates $50 Million in Disaster Recovery Funds for Areas Hit by Severe Spring Storms, Flooding

HUD has allocated $50 million of the $100 million in fiscal 2010 community development block grant disaster recovery funds appropriated for areas hit by severe storms and flooding from March through May 2010. The funds were made available for states where a presi-dentially declared major disaster covered either the entire state or more than 20 counties. The funds can be used for disaster relief, long-term recovery, restoration of infrastructure, housing, and economic revitalization in affected areas.
