NYCHA Submits Annual Plan To Fund State-Financed Housing Inventory with Federal Sources

The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) has submitted a revised annual plan for fiscal 2010 seeking HUD approval to provide federal public housing capital and operating subsidies for the housing authority's 21 city- and state-financed projects, an inventory of 20,143 units which no longer receive regular state funding.rnPublic housing capital funds provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) aren't subject to the statutory prohibition on the use of capital and operating funds to expand the public housing inventory, and NYCHA said this will allow the use of federal funds to modernize the 21 projects in a HUD-approved plan.
