House-Passed Fiscal 2011 Funding Bill Slashes CDBG Funds, Makes Cuts in Other HUD, Rural Housing Programs

The House has approved a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government for the rest of fiscal 2011 (H.R. 1) that would slash community development block grant funding to $1.5 billion and make cuts to several other housing and development programs. Using fiscal 2010 program funding levels as a baseline, the measure would reduce overall spending by an estimated $61 billion.
