Housing affordability remained at historically high levels in the second quarter of 2011, according to the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Hous- ing Opportunity Index (HOI), though it was down from the first quarter's record high. According to the HOI, 72.6 percent of all new and existing homes sold during the quarter were affordable to families earning the national median income of $64,200.
