HUD Will Limit Availability of Price Discounts on Single-Family REO Sales to Noncompetitive Bid Periods

HUD has revised its policy on the sale of single-family real estate owned (REO) properties to limit the availability of price discounts for governmental entities and nonprofits to noncompetitive sales periods. The guidance disallowing discounts during competitive bid periods was outlined in Notice H 2011-15, which was issued on August 9.
