摘要

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (MDHCD) has launched a loan program to finance energy efficiency improvements for multifamily developments, single-family homes, and businesses. The Be SMART (Save Money and Resources Today) initiative is being funded by a $20 million award from the U.S. Department of Energy's BetterBuildings program. Under the program, MDHCD will finance the purchase and installation of energy-efficient equipment, materials, and measures that will result in an energy savings of 15 to 30 percent over conventional materials and construction designs. MDHCD is working with local contractors and volunteers to identify eligible properties and businesses in 15 targeted communities around the state.
