HISTORIC PRESERVATION INVESTMENT TAX CREDIT

The Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council (RIPEC) has released a report on the costs and benefits of reinstating the Rhode Island Historic Preservation Investment Tax Credit (HPITC) program.Rhode Island's HPITC had been in place since 2001, but in 2008, the General Assembly passed legislation that effectively ended the program, barring new applications and modifying rules for projects that were not placed in service as of January 1, 2008.
