Freddie Mac released the results of its Primary Mortgage Market Survey (PMMS) on January 2, 2014, showing average fixed mortgage rates continuing to edge higher as we enter the new year. Highlights of the report include: 1. 30-year fixed-rate mortgage (FRM) averaged 4.53% with an average 0.8 point for the week ending January 2, 2014, up from last week when it averaged 4.48%. A year ago at this time, the 30-year FRM averaged 3.34%. 2. 15-year FRM this week averaged 3.55% with an average 0.7 point, up from last week when it averaged 3.52%. A year ago at this time, the 15-year FRM averaged 2.64%.
