VIRGINIA TO CONDUCT DISPARITY STUDY FOR WOMEN-AND MINORITY-OWNED BUSINESSES

BBC Research and Consulting has been selected by the State of Virginia's Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (SBSD) to conduct a disparity study that will assess procurement opportunities in Virginia for women- and minority-owned businesses. The most recent study was published in 2011. Conducting a new disparity study is a major component of Governor Ralph Northam's Executive Order Thirty-Five, issued in July 2019, which directs state agencies and institutions to procure at least 42% of discretionary spending from certified small-, women-, and minority-owned (SWaM) businesses. State procurement contracts represent over $6 billion annually.
