Interior designer Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo brought the modernist details of the Pan Pacific's original John Portman Architecture into the lounge (top, I.) on the Pacific Club level. The use of glass and steel accents combines with a hot/cool color contrast to create a more residential feel. High-tech fabric wall coverings serve as a soft foil for the rich cabinetry and trim in Pacific Club level rooms and suites (top, r.). It also provides for easy maintenance in this hot, humid climate. very unsold room erodes profitability. Every under-utilized space puts more pressure on the bottom lim. Already challenged to improve yield in the face of uncertain markets, general managers are treasure hunting their properties for profit opportunities. Hotels around the world are sprouting new executive floors, villas and even mini-inns to expand their client bases and market capture. No space is too small, too complicated or too difficult to escape transformation into an incremental revenue driver.
