Mid-market hotel chain Azimut was founded in 2004 in Russia, debuting in other parts of Europe in 2008, and now boasts 23 hotels across 19 cities. For more than three years, Berlin-based Bruzkus Batek Architects has been developing the interior concept for new and existing Azimut properties, recently completing a refresh of the brand's 1,037-room St. Petersburg location, housed in the city's first skyscraper, a circa-1967 18-story building on the Fontanka River. "The owner liked our concept of simple, straightforward 3-Star rooms and comfortable public spaces," explains Bruzkus Batek founder, Ester Bruzkus.
