摘要

Dr. Laura "Clay" cavedo first developed a deep connection with nature growing up on 68 acres outside Richmond, Virginia, where she was influenced by both her mother's love of animals and canoe trips with her father. As an adult, she loved the splendor of the desert and adventures in the outdoors, including a memorable descent into the Grand Canyon by mule. Her conviction that wildlife and wild places should be protected and preserved for future generations led to her long association with NRDC; a steadfast supporter for more than two decades, she even named NRDC as a beneficiary of her estate.
