Jesse Curlee Weaves His Way to Retirement

The idea of spending 36 years with the same company - and 34 of those in the same job - is something you don't hear much about anymore these days. But Jesse Curlee wouldn't have it any other way. At the end of the year, Curlee is retiring as president and ceo of Supima, the premium cotton supplier that under his leadership has become the standard against which all other high-grade cottons are measured. And Curlee himself is likely to be the standard against which all other textiles executives are measured, too. Supima production and use has expanded more than 1,000% since he joined the organization in 1979 and it is now widely accepted in both the home and apparel businesses as "the world's finest cottons."
