If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck ... is it a mass market retailer? Wayfair, the home furnishings and furniture e-tailer, is working hard to make that argument. In recent weeks, it has made moves ripped straight from the big box play- book, including the launch of a suite of house brands and a private label basics collection. "The moment felt very good to push our style strategy even more," svp/general manager Steve Oblak told H&TT. "We don't ever want to be done evolving." Six house brands collections debuted last month with bedding, furniture, area rugs, lighting and decorative accents. Each stakes out a discrete design category - and a specific price point grid. They include 1. Andover Mills: Traditional design at affordable prices, including stylish upholstery, wood furniture and richly-colored finishes. 2. Breakwater Bay: Nautical designs high- lighting crisp, bright colors, traditional silhou- ettes, and lush textures.
