Celebration looks east

The Holstein Celebration reappeared on the calendar this year and the hosts were the Norfolk Club, home of incoming Holstein UK president Gavin Paterson. Members, guests and staff members made the trip across the country from all parts of the United Kingdom in mid September to Dunston Hall Hotel, just south of Norwich and the centre for the Celebration. Holstein UK board member Louis Baugh was given responsibility for organising the activities and he put together a programme that avoided the usual cruise on the broads. In fact, the first event involved something very close to Gavin's heart - a tour round Carrow Road, home to Norwich City FC. Gavin is an ex-director of the Football Club and he and wife Marcia attend every home match if possible. A party of around 60 were given a tour around the impressive stadium, which has undergone con- siderable development in the last decade.They were in the company of ex-Canaries outside left Bill Punton, who played for the Club between 1959 and 1966, scoring 29 goals.
