The turbo expander generator system for energy recovery in gas pressure letdown at a LNG supply station

This equipment recovers unused pressure energy of LNG gas by using a gas expander. Dynamic performance analyses were carried out to confirm turbine down-stream gas conditions because down-stream gas conditions would be influenced by the fluctuation of gas and/or heat exchanger conditions. The gas expander was made and their performance was tested in Germany. The per- formance tests were executed using air in place of fluid because of the limitations of the test laboratory. Turbine performance was forecasted to convert the results into ones which represent gases.
