Multi-Service ATM Node System

摘要

This paper proposes a network architecture consisting of transport core systems and service adaptation systems for realizing a multiservice network based on asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) technology. The key service switches and service interfaces of the network are described. In addition, the paper discusses the network's multi-service operation feature, along with a detailed summary of the specific operations and functionalities already developed. A brief introduction of ATM Multiplexer/ Switching System 5000 series, which are designed around this architecture, is also given.
