Hitachi's Object-Oriented System Development Methodology

Hitachi has been focusing on object-oriented technologies as a solution to recent requirements for both extendibility and flexibility of software products, and the shortening of development time using reusable software. After surveying existing object-oriented development methodologies, it was found that no one methodology was mature enough to be applied by itself to all phases of the development cycle. In response, Hitachi has developed its own object-oriented methodology, the Hitachi Standard Procedure for Object-Oriented Development. This methodology has been refined through a process of testing and evaluating certain hypotheses and making improvements based on the findings. The result is the publication of the Hitachi Standard Procedure for Object-Oriented Development.
