The precast system incorporating a fully integrated, watertight polypropylene liner is set to replace the outdated labour intensive method of in-situ manhole base construction. The system comes with an 80-year guarantee and addresses a long-standing problem associated with traditional methods of manhole construction. Labour intensive, in-situ practices typically involve:- 1. Ready mixed concrete to form the base and rough benching 2. A clay, concrete or uPVC channel to connect the inlet, outlet and branches together. 3. Trowelled mortar to provide a smooth surface on top of the rough benching.
