The Secretary of State for Transport has published an independent review into the resilience of the transport network to extreme weather events.The IHE was among the highway industry bodies invited to a closed panel meeting to discuss the issues. The report takes a detailed look into the severe weather events of last winter and considers the question of how our transport systems could be made more resilient to reduce the level of disruption from extreme weather in future.IHE President John Nightingale said: "The independent review is a valuable piece of work which considers how to better weatherproof the UK's transport systems for future climate change events.
