Too much of a good thing? This is the first instalment of Young's trawl through his solo catalogue going back to the very beginning, with the Squires. It has been described as the 'definitive, comprehensive, chronological survey' of his entire career, this set only going as far as Harvest. As such, it is clearly aimed at the totally devoted Young fan - the Blu-ray edition contains even more material and hidden extras - but they are legion, so this costly box set will probably sell well. It's loaded with unreleased material, for those who judge value accordingly, while the remastering and HDCD sound make the familiar stuff seem fresh. One of rock's true geniuses, surely he's allowed to be this self-indulgent?
