For a band that had as many personnel changes as Motorhead, the 1991 line-up for 79 76 was pretty close to the ideal. Lemmy provided the sandpaper raw vocals and throbbing bass, and Phil 'The Animal' Taylor the powerhouse drumming, but then the band always sounded the same regardless of era or membership. This LP veers from the bleak to the ludicrous, containing as it does both an ode to WWI and another to the Ramones, in which this arch heavy metal band provides a breathtaking impressing of da brudders.
