CLEARAUDIO'S OPTICAL INNOVATION

Equipped with only one 24V DC motor, as opposed to the Master Reference model's three, the Innovation still claims the 'lowest speed variation ever' thanks to Clearaudio's new Optical Speed Control or OSC. In this system, an infrared light and sensor are mounted on the chassis near the centre bearing, facing upwards towards the underside of the stainless steel lower platter. A reflective track on the platter allows the sensor to continously monitor the speed of rotation, and this information is then used to control the speed of the motor electronically, maintaining the correct platter speed within very close limits.
