At 15, with no job, I find decent sounding hi-fi is beyond my budget. I don't know many teenagers with a spare £1000 to fork out on an interconnect! The solution is DIY hi-fi - at least unti I can afford the better stuff.rnI've built myself a small, but good sounding digital chip amp (2020), into which I can either plug my iPod or laptop (a Christmas present) which runs through my DAC. This DAC was also built by myself and is based on the PCM2707 chip with USB input and analogue (phono and headphone) or I2S or S/PDIF digital outputs.
