Singer-songwriter Lieberman is back after an absence of four or five years with a sublime showcase for the crystalline vocals that made her an audiophile darling in the 1990s. While her own works are achingly beautiful, the title track alone being a breathy Nyro-esque treasure worth the price of admission, it's a brace of British covers that makes this set so dazzling. Her gloriously baroque versions of the Bee Gees'. 'New York Mining Disaster 1942' and the Hollies' 'Bus Stop' render her a one-woman answer to '60s group The Left Banke, in itself a shock for Shindig readers.
