With some commentators likening the current recession to that of the 1930s one thing's for sure, and that's that consumers are thinking very hard before splashing out on the latest twist of any technologies they already own. Of course, manufacturers will still expect us to keep up with the very latest gizmos, hoping we'll turn a blind eye to all those landfill sites filling up with last year's MP3 players and TVs, dumped simply because this year's model boasts greater storage, is more compact or is simply slicker looking.
