Around this time last year we ran a feature on John Howes' collection of vintage hi-fi. This proved to be less a museum and more a testament to the legacy of Paul Voigt and his pioneering efforts at the coal face of audio in the 1930s and '40s. Perhaps I shouldn't have been surprised when, six months later, John -a leading light of the vintage movement - paid a surreptitious visit to Hi-Fi News towers and confided that he was 'working on a special project - the first Domestic Corner Horn to be built in over 50 years'. This was a man armed with plans long thought lost and on a mission to find a decent carpenter.
