Can you supply copies of the HFN Test CDs I and II? I first became aware of the discs when I found CD II at my local library a few years ago. It was very useful and I would now like to purchase both discs. Your magazine is very informative and few months go by without my buying it. Steve Harris replies: Dating from 1988, the first Hi-Fi News & Record Review Test Disc [HFN 003] was a pioneering effort by the magazine, the disc mastered and pressed by Denon in Japan. Along with a full range of test signals it offers some fabulous demonstration material, notably Emma Kirkby in music by Hildegard of Bingen, but the most-played track has always been Mike Skeet's stunningly dynamic recording of his up-and-over 'Garage Door.'
