Digital's wild west

High resolution audio is a rallying cry at Hi-Fi News, so whether your passion is vinyl or digital we are resolutely behind every audiophile in the quest for better sound quality. However, with DVD-A obsoleted and SACD marginalised, we are lacking any universally supported carrier for high resolution digital audio. It was perhaps inevitable that this vacuum would be filled by a virtual medium, the progressive audiophile now seemingly besiegec from all quarters by the promise of improved sound from 24-bit/96kHz audio downloads.
