Long ago, I learned never to deem something 'the best' because there is no way I nor anyone else could hear all the competition. Waiting in the wings is the D'Agostino power amp,Krell, Boulder, Ayre... and that's just the solid-state stuff. But there was an immediate sensation apparent upon hearing this Mclntosh combination, even from ice-cold: that of true greatness in every sense of the word.
