Despite its versatility, the performance of the 111 is relatively uncomplicated to explore. It offers 96kHz and 192kHz upsampling options but there are no fancy digital filters included here, just a tried-and-tested FIR type yielding a familiar impulse response - with equal pre/post echoes and ripple-free response - rolled-off to -0.48dB/20kHz (48kFs), -7.2dB/45kHz (96Fs) and -30dB/90kHz (192kFs) courtesy of Burmester's proprietary analogue filter.
