Like The Beatles' set before it, this is a rare opportunity to see all six of The Rolling Stones' appearances (four in colour) on what was America's top TV variety show in the 1950s-1970s, along with the other acts. The talent ranged from Tom Jones, Dusty Springfield, Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald at one extreme, to sadly dated comedians at the other; but overall it was the creme de la creme of the era. It says much that The Stones were the most prominent act in each show, and their performances are superb. Watch the group evolve from October '64 to November '69, arguably their salad days, through 17 classic songs.
