This is the third album from Dundee's Hazey's Janes. I vividly remember loving their debut in 2006, but must have missed their second release. No matter, because this one is an instant stone classic. The massive spine-chilling epic heart-acher 'You Only Stand To Lose If I Stay', for example, features everything from impassioned soaring vocals to ambient electronics, yearning fiddles and ghostly backup vocals. Then, just when you've decided it's the greatest cut you've heard for a year they throw in the surging 'Wake To Guide Love' and you have to think again.
