The tipping point?

According to figures released by the ERA (Entertainment Retailers Association), the annual sales of digital media have now exceeded ￡1bn. This is a significant milestone that some in the mainstream press have suggested represents a tipping point in the consumption of downloaded versus physical media. I've no doubt that the burgeoning sales of low-res MP3 music 'consumables' is driving the decline of CD among the civilians, as Ken Kessler is wont to call the general population, but I also suspect our audiophile community remains at the tail-end of any such commercial curve.
