In presenting a collection of songs learned at her father's knee, mainly jazz 78s from the 1920s and 1930s, Clad Rag Doll mirrors the recent McCartney album on which Macca made significant use of Krall's talents and team. But while he played it straight, Krall has shed her usual collective in favour of T Bone Burnett behind the desk and Marc Ribot on guitar, thereby soliciting a much earthier mix of styles and sounds.
