Pioneer is returning to two-channel hi-fi with a vengeance, its four-strong range of integrated amplifiers (the A-10, '20, '30 and '50) now headed by the new ￡800 A-70 while the PD-10, and '30 SACD players are joined by the flagship PD-50 at ￡500. In line with previous top-of-the-range Pioneer amps, the A-70 has been 'tuned' by the engineers at AIR Studios. The amp also offers a suite of digital inputs, including asynchronous USB, and features a 32-bit ESS Sabre DAC at the heart of its engine. The power amp section is a MOSFET-based Class D design, rated at 90W from 4-16ohm.
