Kimber Kable 4TC

Exemplar of the adage that 'if it ain't broke...' Kimber's 4TC ranks among one of the earliest specialist cables and looks essentially unchanged over more than two decades. It retains its multi-gauge copper strands, seven per Teflon-insulated conductor with four separate conductors per side. These are woven together ensuring the cable is instantly recognisable - or at least it would be if Kimber hadn't switched from blue and black to white and clear insulation in this latest 4TC variant. I have my own test data for 4TC from 1992 and 1997, both illustrating the mix of low inductance (just over 1 uH for a full 5m loop) and moderately high capacitance (710pF/5m) shared by our sample here.
