Spendor SP100R~2 Classic

Spendor continues to maintain and refine its Classic Series models, based on the 'heritage' designs from earlier decades. The biggest and most impressive of these is the newly-revised SP100R~2, at £7495/pr. It isn't really so big, but its proportions could make it look bulky in all but the largest rooms. The original SP100R~2 of 2009 had introduced a 22mm wide-surround tweeter and a new 180mm Spendor bass/mid unit, plus a revised crossover and re-aligned low-frequency response. But it underwent a further significant revision in 2015 where a redesigned front baffle offering increased rigidity, together with improved side-panel damping, was sufficient for Spendor to claim a noticeable enhancement in the speaker's low-frequency resolution.
